In the surreal fever dream that is Sisters Sex Scandal2016, we really shouldn't be surprised that Tuesday morning's big visitor to Trump Tower in New York was... Kanye West.

Surrounded by a group of around half a dozen people, including one with a camera, West smiled as he strode through the lobby, offering up only a "Hey" to reporters as they yelled questions. The strange lobby party happened not long after the confirmation of Exxon Mobile CEO Rex Tillerson as President-elect Donald Trump's pick for Secretary of State.

As the awkward duo left the building, the media pressed them on what the hell went on upstairs. Trump coyly responded: "Life... we discussed life." While West just wanted to take a selfie. "I just wanted to take a picture right now," he said.

There's no word on what West, who's had a rough year, and Trump would be meeting about but as Trump has proven in the past, he's willing to talk to anyone whose level of fame is the same as his whether he has a plan or not.

It's possible Trump might be trying to woo West to perform at the upcoming inauguration as many big stars have refused to perform for Trump.

Trump's communications director Jason Miller told The Daily Beast, “[Kanye] has had positive things to say about the president-elect,” and that the president-elect wants to explore “putting together coalitions... reach out to people both from traditional and nontraditional political viewpoints."

After the meeting, the pair posed for photos for the press with West again being reticent, answering a barrage of reporter questions with only, "I just want to take a picture right now," while Trump gushed about how long the two have been friends.

The meeting with West comes after Trump had postponed a scheduled press conference, his first since winning the election.

West has made some overt political statements over the last year or so.

During his speech accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, West announced he'd be running for president in 2020. Though many thought he was joking, comments in a later interview indicated West was totally serious.

Then, in mid-November of 2016, during a concert in San Jose, CA, West announced to the crowd that he hadn't voted in the recent presidential election, but if he had he would have voted for Trump, seemingly confirming rumors that had been floating around for months.

Bringing everything full circle? West rapped about Trump on the song "So Appalled" on his 2010 masterpiece album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
