April Ryan is Gangnam Daughter in law (2019)a journalism institution. She has covered three sitting presidents as White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks, regularly appears on MSNBC and is among the most visible black female journalists in the U.S.
Donald Trump clearly doesn't know all that based on how he treated Ryan during Thursday's press conference.
Ryan asked Trump a question about his previously stated commitment to improving conditions in "inner cities" in the U.S. and whether he would meet with the Congressional Black Caucus.
"Do you want to set up the meeting? Do you want to set up the meeting? Are they friends of yours?" Trump said.
"I'm just a reporter. I know some of them," Ryan responded.
As if already realizing how condescending he had come off, Trump then added that he "would love to meet with the Congressional Black Caucus."
"I think it's great, the Congressional Black Caucus. I think it's great," Trump said.

Ryan has already been in the news recently after she ended up in a confrontation with Trump communications official Omarosa Manigault. Ryan claimed that Manigault physically intimidated her and verbally berated her, which Manigault denied and attempted to prove with a recording of part of their interaction.
Following the exchange with Trump on Friday, Ryan handled the situation with class, pointing out that setting up meetings is not her job but also expressing gratitude that Trump responded.
